Beautiful Signs for a Better Planet
Bathroom or restroom signs are one of the most common types of ADA-compliant signage. If you are a business with a restroom, even if it’s only for employees, you are required to identify with an ADA sign like those below.
We include both ADA restroom identification signs and directional signs in this sign category. Remember, if not all washrooms are accessible as defined in §603 of the ADA then directional signage guiding to accessible bathrooms is required per §216.8 of the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design.
We offer many pictogram options to accommodate a range of facility needs. Consider which style of all gender symbol suits your brand. Additionally, evaluate if signs directing toward the restroom will increase your clients’ comfort or are legally required.
If your restroom is handicap accessible, consider which ISA (International Symbol of Accessibility or person in wheelchair pictogram) is best based on state and local regulations. Remember that the modified ISA is required by law only in New York and Connecticut. If you’d like to use this more active person in a wheelchair symbol for a facility in another state, check with your local building inspector first.
